Robert Tubbs, Senior Pastor

After graduating in December 1987 from Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in Mill Valley California with his Master in Divinity  Pastor Bob moved to Los Osos in July 1988 with his wife Donna and two month old daughter Kimberly.  Then in September 1989, he and Donna welcomed their son, Joshua into the family.  Throughout his years here he has been active in helping the church start Sonshine Preschool and Afterschool Program, led the church through two building projects, helped start a youth group in his home, and has been active in the Association’s Children Camp Program as director of the camp for many years.

In 2013, Pastor Bob worked with Morro Bay Community Church to disband and then after three years, and many work days on up-grading the facilities, helped call church planter Jeremy Ventresca to start North Morro Church which was launched in September 2015.  He has also worked to partner with Church Planter Hugo Martinez to begin, Primera Iglesia Bautista Linaje Escojida of Morro Bay, which is a vibrant Spanish speaking church in our tri-cities.

He consistently shares one of his favorite Bible passages taken from 2 Corinthians 12:9-10, “And He has said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for power is perfected in weakness." Most gladly, therefore, I will rather boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may dwell in me.” (NASU)  Pastor Bob explains grace is what saves us from our sins and sustains us in our sorrows.
